Аннотация: Forensic entomology in Malaysia is relatively a new area of study as compared to other parts of the world. The post-mortem interval (PMI) estimation by entomological evidence is a useful forensic tool and should be widely applied in crime scene investigation in Malaysia. This invaluable book provides a concise introduction about forensic entomology in Malaysia and a basic understanding of the proper methods of collection, which will allow investigators to make accurate and representative collections from the death scene. Besides that those involved in crime scene analysis and the death investigation process are encouraged to use this book as a reference resource to enhance understanding of the subject and enable the reader to gain key laboratory skills, a basic understanding of insect life cycles, the general appearance of insect of forensic importance and aspects of their ecology, the identification methods used for maggots found at crime scene and DNA barcoding.
