Аннотация: This book provides a concept about SEZs. In this globalization world, most developing countries are witnessing a shift away from an import substitution based development strategy to one based on export promotion policy. As part of their policy instruments to promote exports, many of these countries are vigorously promoting export processing zones (EPZs) or SEZs. A special economic zone is a geographical region that has economic laws which are more liberal than the usual economic laws in the country. The basic motto behind this is to increase foreign investment, development of infrastructure, job opportunities and increase the income level of the people. SEZ’s are good from the point of view of growth and development. It increase income level of citizens, encourages competition and lowers labor costs. Some perceive that these Special Economic Zones are engine of economic growth.
