Principal Leadership. Interconnectedness between Emotional Intelligence, Work-Integrated Learning Competencies and Collegial Leaders

      Аннотация: Effective principalship is at the forefront of every school’s success within the global educational community. In our ever changing 21st Century environment, schools require the support and dedication of all their members of staff in order to evolve as institutions of educational excellence. This book therefore highlights the need for principals to develop and consequently demonstrate emotionally intelligent behaviours in order to create an environment where teachers are satisfied at work, energised in their roles and accountable for their areas of responsibility. The need for principals as school leaders to reach beyond their cognitive domain and nurture an emotionally intelligent environment at school is methodically explored in this book. The role of emotional competencies and divergent thinking takes principals and their teams out of traditional, bureaucratic shackles and places them into a world of creative, collegial freedom. Hence, the innovative strategies presented in this book create opportunities for principals and teachers to experiment in an educationally holistic manner to acquire this emancipation.
