Аннотация: Although Germ cell aplasia (nonobstructive form of azoospermia) do exist but there is under-diagnosis and under-reporting of the disease. The most study emerged in this topic was focused on the histological aspects of the disease . However, data on hormonal aspects of germ cell aplasia including its relation to leptin hormone were limited. Understanding the role of leptin in germ cell aplasia may be helpful in the treatment of the disease. It is important to give a detailed picture on factors associated with germ cell aplasia which may be helpful in future awareness of patients. The general objective of this study was to assess leptin status and some biochemical parameters in germ cell aplasia among infertile men. Where we will identify risk factors associated with germ cell aplasia and relation between body mass index (BMI)and germ cell aplasia. We measured leptin, FSH, LH, testosterone, cholesterol , triglyceride , high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL)levels and investigated the possible relationships between these parameters. The target population was infertile men with azoospermia, germ cell aplasia.
