Аннотация: The present study summarizes that the Thyroid hormones shows effects on reproduction in buffaloes. The heifers and cyclic buffaloes are selected for this study is 126 in number. 50 of them are identified as anoestrous. And the remaining heifers (50) and buffaloes (26) are reproductively active, which are used as controls for this study. Reproductive activity of anoestrous heifers and controls studied from September 2006 to August 2007 in the rural areas of Gannavaram, Kankipadu and Ungutur mandals of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. The parameters were TSH, T3 and T4. The occurrence of the thyroid profile in controls and anoestrous varied significantly. The thyroid profile was low in anoestrous buffaloes when compared with the controls. The variation between controls and anoestrous buffaloes ranges 15 to 28 %. The maximum anoestrous is due to low protein and nutritive diet. Keep on doing research on the same anoestrous buffaloes by providing good environment, high nutritive diet and thyroid hormonal ingestions may reveals the exact relation between thyroid hormones and reproduction.
