A Critical Approach to Adaptive Strategies of Haor People. A Case Study on Sunamgonj,Sylhet

      Аннотация: The book entitled A Critical Approach to Adaptive Strategies of Haor People: A Case Study on Sunamgonj, Sylhet deals with the ecological settings and the physical background of the studied area (Rupnagar village, Sunamgonj), the socio-economic conditions of the villagers, the features of resource exploitation and the basic modes of their production, the village people’s way of life, their social organization, their marriage pattern, gender relation and the condition of women and their position, patterns of leadership, economic spheres, their beliefs, rituals and myths. The author minutely analyzed the impact of the Haor water and the people’s overall lifestyle. The author, further, has moved through that relationship by observing the action of people of this area and the impact of this Haor water on their action as well as their behaviour; in other words, their indigenous way of life which is mentioned as “water culture.”
