Boosting Population-Health Literacy through Intervention.

      Аннотация: The Population-Health status of India is dismal and depressing as revealed by various Population-Health indicators such as population growth, life expectancy, fertility rate, birth and death rates, contraceptive prevalence rate, incidence of diseases and disabilities, extent of immunization, etc. A comparison of the statistics on Population-Health indicators of India with neighbouring countries such as China and Sri Lanka reflect the low Population-Health status in India. This book, through a set of social experiments and intervention studies, clearly reveals the role of intervention programme in the improvement of Population-Health Literacy in the Urban Hindu Housewives of India. The role of intervention has been established in a scientific way using experimental procedures and controlling the relevant variables. This book will be of particular interest to the social workers, social scientists, and others working in the area of Population-Health Literacy.
