Аннотация: This book discusses the potential for the development of front-of-pack labelling systems within the EU, focusing on three EU countries, namely the UK, Germany and Denmark. The front-of-pack labelling system is voluntary in the EU, leading to a situation where there are different labelling systems in different countries within the EU. The existence of these different labels confuses consumers, and makes it difficult and expensive for the industry to deliver products to different EU countries, as the product labelling needs to be adjusted for each country’s system. These issues have led to the problem statement: What are the effects in the UK, Germany, and Denmark of the front-of-pack labelling systems used on food to help customers make healthier purchasing decisions? What are the predominant forms of front-of-pack labelling used in the UK, Germany and Denmark? What are the opportunities for harmonizing front-of-pack labelling on food in the EU countries?
