Аннотация: Most institutions in the World use academic examinations results to predict students’ eventual success. Individuals scoring higher grades are preferentially selected for admission since it is believed they will be successful. This selection criteria has locked out admission to learning institutions for many individuals with great potential who may have scored low grades at a preceding level. In Kenyan Public Secondary Schools, there are cases of students enrolled from public primary schools who performed in K.C.S.E examination better than students from private primary schools, yet in K.C.P.E examination, students from private primary schools had performed better than those from public primary schools. This book, therefore, analyses this contradictory result that has not been researched substantially with an aim of providing information to teachers, parents, education stakeholders and Ministry of Education on the reality on the ground and thus facilitate decision making especially on matters pertaining to equity. Prediction of KCSE marks given KCPE marks will enable decision makers to come up with logic of selection of Form One students equitably.
