Bone graft for future dental implants, the truthful reality. Is Bone ceramic® an osteoconductive material when used as an onlay graft?

      Аннотация: Dental implants are becoming one of the most important treatment options in the field of dentistry and oral maxillofacial rehabilitation. However, the practitioner frequently encounters situations of obstacle to do so, of which the most common one is alveolar bone deficiency that can be in horizontal fashion, vertical, or both. In this book the classification of alveolar bone deficiency, the major categories of BONE GRAFTING techniques, the differences between INLAY & ONLAY bone grafts, the differences of variable bone graft products, & the options of available covering MEMBRANES are thoroughly discussed in clinical as well as in histological aspects after a research study performed in McGill University. Understanding the link of clinical use to the micro imaging modalities (histology, histomorphometry,& micro CT scan) will clarify the reality of grafting in implant dentistry.
