Аннотация: This publication deals with the problem of possibilities for development of social competences by means of higher education. It defines the approaches to social intelligence in particular and describes it in the work of pedagogues and managers. It further provides a detailed insight into other social competences, such as Machiavellian intelligence, emotional intelligence, coping with demanding situations, assertiveness, mobbing, and others. One of the chapters describes managerial games as a means of social competence development and their task within the education of future managers, as well as the innovative approaches within the work of pedagogues. The book also provides a presentation of the research findings aimed at social competences and the possibilities of applying the gained results to the educational process. It particularly describes the need for and possibilities of using social competences for the preparation of managers and teachers. The proposed publication is aimed for college and university students, future managers, future teachers, pedagogic workers or teaching staff, further education lecturers, science and research workers, and similar.
