Аннотация: Pile capacity determination is very difficult. A large number of different equations are used, and seldom will any two give the same computed capacity. Organizations which have been using a particular equation tend to stick to it especially when successful data base has been established. This book rated some formulae for estimating the load carrying capacity of piles using reliability analysis concept;examined the various predictions of load carrying capacity of piles;assessed the uncertainties of properties of soils, pile materials and the loads that must be resisted.Using the principles of probability and statistics to describe the various parameters that affect reliability of pile foundations, and calculate the levels of reliability of piles compared to the effect of allowable design loads in design code.Extensive literature review and analysis of the carrying capacities of piles based on static and dynamic approaches with special consideration to steel and precast concrete as pile types in cohesive, cohesionless, and intermediate soils between sand and clay and layered soils is the scope of this book.
