      Аннотация: The book 'Sub-Himalayan Horticulture in the Context of Geography', is a comprehensive work that describes and examines horticulture as an economic sector for sustainable rural development. In this book, an attempt has been made to provide an understanding of the wide spectrum of horticulture and its economic importance with special reference to fruit-culture. The entire study encompasses to cover an appraisal of horticultural diversity in Poonch district, a Sub-Himalayan region of Jammu & Kashmir state in India. Horticulture constitutes a promising livelihood option through natural habitat utilization and a sustainable economic sector providing employment to a major portion of population in the state. This sector forms one of the biggest sources of income in the state’s economy providing ample opportunities for sustaining large number of agro-industries.
