Maritime Piracy in the Gulf of Aden: Threats and Implications.

      Аннотация: It is said that, blood is thicker than water but water is the bench mark for all viscosity's; it binds us defines us and some times even curses us. One such curse of a prehistoric nature is the maritime piracy. It has been a threat to merchant shipping since ages and up to date remains a global irritant. Currently, maritime piracy in the Gulf of Aden has emerged as one of the biggest economic, political and military threat in these strategically important waters.This book,therefore, provides a dimension to dealing with the issue objectively. It sheds light on how a failed state status can convert into a 'cancer' for the regional and global community. The analysis should help shed some light on the issue with a new perspective of the economic, political and legal dimension of the issue; thus pursuing a triangular approach. This should be equally useful to professionals, academicians and students alike.
