Аннотация: Present study was conducted to find out the effect of cyclic loading and thermal cycling on the tensile bond strength of cements used with implant prosthesis. Implants were mounted on typodont jaws. Metal ceramic three unit prosthesis were fabricated and cemented with Zinc oxide eugenol cement, Zinc phosphate cement and Glass ionomer cement. After cementation specimens were subjected to cyclic loading, thermal cycling and the combination of both. Thermal cycling, cyclic loading and the combination of both will reduce the tensile bond strength of cements. Glass ionomer was more retentive before and after loading and it exhibited higher amount of reduction in bond strength after various treatments, where as Zinc oxide eugenol is less retentive before and after loading compare to other cements. But there is no much reduction in bond strength of Zinc oxide eugenol cement after loading. Zinc phosphate cement is preferred than Glass ionomer cement for permanent cementation, which may allow the easy retrieval of the prosthesis without interfering with the osseointegration.
