Аннотация: Gust Response of Bridges with Proper Orthogonal Decomposition provides a detailed framework for the gust response analysis of bridges in both frequency domain and time domain. Gust response and aeroelastic stability are major concerns for wind-resistant design and aerodynamics of long-span cable-supported bridges. The book discusses on the recent uncertainties in admittance function and coherence function based on the physical measurements of rectangular cylinders in the wind tunnel tests. The book emphasizes on the proper orthogonal decomposition and its applications for wind turbulence, pressures, buffeting forces and gust response analysis of bridges. Main applications of the proper orthogonal decomposition to wind engineering are presented, including the digital simulation of spatially-correlated turbulent fields; the analysis and synthesis of pressure fields on rectangular sections; and the gust response analysis of bridges. The book will be of interest to engineers and researchers in bridge engineering, structural dynamics, wind-induced vibrations of bridges. It also provides an useful reference for graduate students of civil engineering, mechanical engineering and other.
