Аннотация: In recent two decades, the issue of brownfield regeneration increased significantly due to the trend of sustainable spatial development. This caused also the need for efficient land use planning, stressing the importance on effective stakeholder collaboration. A body of literature in this domain places the emphasis on the concrete examples of the brownfield regeneration process. However, this book provides an overview of a broader framework – the institutional collaboration in such a process. The territorial research scope covers the Danube macro-region, as one of the most important axes that connects west and east of Europe. More precisely, the overview of the spatial planning systems, as well as the institutional and regulative framework of brownfield regeneration in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Serbia is presented. The analysis should help shed some light on the institutional support for brownfield regeneration, as well as on new integrative policies in this domain. Such an overview should be especially useful for the professionals in the field of spatial planning or any other planning practitioners who may consider the importance of institutional collaboration for achieving the effective brownfield regeneration.
