Psychology of Asthma. Current Explorations

      Аннотация: Asthma is a chronic disease that involves inflammation of the bronchial tubes which leads to difficulty in breathing. The prevalence of asthma is steadily increasing throughout the world. The traditional environmental risk factors fail to explain the increase in occurrence of asthma. This book’ “Psychology of Asthma: Current Explorations” attempts to explain the role of the psychological factors in the morbidity, genesis, incidence severity of asthma. Based on the contemporary conceptual models and empirical data the book provides not only the theoretical inputs about the dynamics of asthma but also the applied mechanism of managing it by using effective coping strategies. It is intended that the book would serve the interest of a broad spectrum of users from diverse fields of Psychology, Women’s Studies, Developmental Studies, Home Science, Sociology and Behavioural Medicine.
