      Аннотация: Every year many girls drop out of school due to sex related issues such as pregnancy. The causes of this scenario include lack of information about sexuality by teenagers who are undergoing drastic and sometimes traumatising socio-psychological as well as biological changes. Parents and teachers, who are key personalities in the life of adolescents either do not talk to them, for lack of a forum or lack skills themselves. This leaves the adolescent with unfiltered sources like peers. This book explores the availability of information and the role of the school in provision of sex education to curb girl-child attrition and enhance their participation in education. It also examines policy issues on sex education and their ramifications on access, equity and retention. The book posits that lack of information about sexuality is the leading cause of unwanted pregnancy and attendant risks like school drop-out among teenagers.
