Eliot and Indian Sublimity holds Eliot as an authentic east wind and presents the eastern thought in his works as a deliberate effort to ornate and to enrich his works with allusions, images, ideas and modes of expression assimilated from Indian sublimity. Call it an influence or a creative use or a deliberate scheme, the prevalence of eastern thought in his mature works is definite, the influence of Indian sublimity in shaping his thought pattern is pronounced, and the images and insights drawn from Indian ‘echoes and sources’ are prominent and purposeful, lending an organic unity to his otherwise fragmentary works. Indian sublimity was not merely an influence to Eliot, but a design, creative, critical and subtle, that has woven the structure and texture of his poetic creation with a new vision of life and 'philosophical style'. For him eastern sublimity became not just a source of images and symbols, rather a way of speculation, a way of image-building, a way of advancing philosophical and aesthetic ideas, and a new style of articulation with passion, elegance and beauty.
