Аннотация: This research work focuses on assessment of revenue generation strategies at the local government with reference to Ohimimi local government. The major constraints to the task of internal revenue generation such as absence or decayed strategies of revenue generation, provision of enabling laws and problems were identified and evaluated. Secondary data provided the bunk of the critical information, primary data were collected through the us of interview method. The Annual Financial estimates of the local government were analysed using budget performance tool (t-test) and simple percentage. In all the researcher therefore recommends and advocates for effective and efficient revenue strategies and the tax raising power of the local government to be increased. As for the local government, it should considered other potential revenue areas yet untapped or not adequately tapped. And also to implement its revenue generation apparatus as an economic and fiscal autonomy strategy.
