Eradicating the Practice of Breast Ironing in Cameroon.

      Аннотация: This is a concise introduction to the practice of Breast ironing which is a form of violence that takes place in certain regions of Cameroon. Ada Tchoukou Julie Ynes provides a brief analysis of this practice from a human rights perspective. She regards this practice as one of the most widespread and systematic violations of the universal human rights to personal integrity committed against the girl child in Cameroon, abusing their physical, sexual and psychological integrity. She examines whether this practices is one that can be classified as being part of culture or merely a practice that has acquired the status of culture overtime. She also includes an analysis of Cameroon's obligations in international law as regards implementing the provisions regarding violence against girl children and also determines how and why Cameroon is failing in its protection and prevention responsibilities.
