Аннотация: Education represents a significant aspect of contemporary socio-political order and the media being one important part of the same, media education too deserves attention. This book tries to address just that. It looks at media education in a holistic sense - in terms of its evolution, growth trajectory, content and operations. Specific to the state of Gujarat which is presently booming in terms of both industry and education, the book addresses several aspects related to media education in the state. In this sense, it is a novel attempt to chart out the trajectory of media education in Gujarat, something that previous works have been able to deal with in a limited way. The book is a fine blend of historical facts and contemporary developments as it employs a qualitative approach to assess the state of media education in Gujarat. Through in-depth interviews and document analysis, authors scrutinize and present an exploratory analysis of the subject along with addressing relevant issues and concerns that affect media education in India as a whole. The work aims to be useful to media educators, media students, media researchers, the media industry and policy makers in the government.
