This additional anchorage has traditionally been provided by adding resistant units, headgear or inter maxillary elastics, resulting in distribution of the reaction forces and reduction of the pressure on the anchor units. Nevertheless their success depends on patient co-operation, implying risk of prolonged treatment time and jeopardized treatment objectives if the patient doesn’t co-operate.Thus to minimize the need for the patient compliance and secure anchorage in all three dimensions, Implants play a pivotal role.An IMPLANT is an artificial object inserted into the human body which remains there either permanently or for an extended period of time.
