Аннотация: Climate displacement is not just a phenomenon to be addressed at some point in the future; it is a crisis that is unfolding across Bangladesh now. However, through a combination of lack of political will as well as a lack of financial and technical resources, there are currently no comprehensive mechanisms to provide support to people who have lost their homes, land and property as a result of climate change to rebuild their lives. The book focuses all persons displaced by climate change in Bangladesh are rights-holders and are entitled to respect and protection of the full range of their human rights under national and international law. It is essential that effective and durable solutions to this growing crisis are developed and implemented immediately. It is equally essential that different stakeholders in Bangladesh and in the regional and international communities contribute to ensure the implementation of a truly effective institutional framework – through financial and technical cooperation, as well as ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the legal and policy responses to climate displacement.
