Аннотация: Information on distribution and mobility of nutrients in soil enhances the knowledge-base about the functioning of an ecosystem and helps understanding the management requirements for its long-term sustenance. This is also crucial for Protected Areas to devise management plans. It further assumes significance when a Protected Area is located amidst a vast agricultural landscape and experiences inflow of sediments and water. The inflow of sediments and nutrients including heavy metals is likely to have differential distribution and mobility among different habitats. This is further interesting to know when there are multiple habitat systems functioning together with-in an area. The audience for this book includes multitude of researchers from various disciplines of environmental studies and ecology. The chapters help developing knowledge base on nutrient distribution and heavy metal fractionation in soils of different habitats, and offer further scope for repeatability and contribution. The research presented here is highly recommended to graduate students and researchers who wish to update their knowledge-base on bio-geochemical aspects of various ecosystems and allied issues.
