Ethnic Conflicts in Nigeria: Insight into the Tiv-Jukun Ethnic Crisis.

      Аннотация: The occurrences of ethnic conflicts remain one of the encumbrances inhibiting peaceful coexistence and ipso facto development in Nigeria. The consequences of these conflicts on Nigeria are stupendous considering how they dislocate social cohesion, disorient people’s unifying values and render her economically awry. Using specific case studies across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, this book, Ethnic Conflicts in Nigeria: Insight into the Tiv-Jukun Crisis, which is based on a doctoral research by the author, analyzes the trajectory of ethnic conflicts in Nigeria. It underscores the tragic character of ethnic conflicts and notes that these crises are either ignited as a corollary of the indigene-settler dichotomy, land disputes or the political factor embellished in religious tint. The book concentrates on the Tiv-Jukun ethnic conflict discusses the trend of the conflict and highlights the enfeebled efforts made by the Nigerian government in managing and/or resolving ethnic conflicts in Nigeria. It provides antidote to the problem of ethnic conflicts, which holistically demands resolute efforts by the various levels of government, the communities and the citizens.
