Hybrid Genre in PowerPoint Defense Session Presentations.

      Аннотация: PowerPoint, the most used software for digital presentations,is used by the academic sphere as a main medium through which information and findings are transmitted to the audience; lectures and instructions are given to the students. As a digital tool which hosts a number of visual aids, PowerPoint has added extra channel for speech delivery by which presenters are able to enrich their verbal messages with other modes of communication so as to pass the message to its addressee more efficiently.The exceptional feature of PowerPoint is the ability to combine verbal and nonverbal elements in presentations which brings into existence the concept of multimodality. The book investigates the visual and rhetorical features of PowerPoint defense session presentations in Applied Linguistics.Studying this book will increase the knowledge of readers about academic presentations and their hybrid genre.
