Sexual Behavior among Youth.

      Аннотация: This cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of condom use during first sexual experience among first year and second year male university students and the factors affecting their condom use. This research was conducted in Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy from June 21st to 28th, 2012.The data were collected from 321 respondents by self-administered questionnaires. The associations between the independent and dependent variables were analyzed by using chi–square test. The results of this study reveal that 24.6% of the respondents had previous sexual experience, but only 25.3% used a condom during their experience. 2.5% of the respondents had poor knowledge of HIV/AIDS and STDs. In terms of attitudes on sex and condom use, 95.3% of students had a positive attitude regarding sex and condom use. The results of this study suggest that health education on HIV/AIDS and STD and proper condom use is still needed for HIV/AIDS and STDs prevention. Life skills training strategies for youth such as training in social, interpersonal, cognitive, and emotional coping skills are necessary to prepare youth and prevent HIV/AIDS and STDs.
