Аннотация: The present work is the result of my natural and eternal inquietude in relation to issues concerning Black people’s stories and on Black people’s histories, which were not written, heard, spoken and/or revealed. Being a black woman made me think about the absence and/or erasure of Black heroes as well as of Black heroines of the pages of Literature and of History books. Yet, in 2010, I encountered the “treasure”: I found Black people talking about Black issues in all kinds of interesting texts: in Literature, in History, in articles. Therefore, bearing in mind my intention to bring a kind of literature produced by Black people, mainly Black women writers, as well as the searching for writers who made use of literature as a hopeful space, interweaving fiction and fact, history and literature, providing us with alternative discourses, I decided on two influential writers, the African Americans, Frances E. W. Harper and Pauline E. Hopkins. Harper and Hopkins were some of the female voices who joined the chorus of those advocating dignity, equality, respect and uplift for African Americans, mainly for African American Women.
