Аннотация: This book is prepared with the aim to identity local revenue performance and the problems of mobilization and collecting the revenue in local government system in Bangladesh. As local government are the nearest government to the people at the grassroots in Bangladesh, they are strategically play a pivotal role in national development. Union Parishad as a lowest tier of local government in Bangladesh is yet to perform optimal local revenue mobilization.This book is based on empirical inquiry and information which provide a strategy for reducing dependency on central government through enhancing the revenue collection of Union Parishad. However, this book may attract the attention of policy makers in Bangladesh and other countries and may be helpful to produce key information for realizing how to mobilize resource at grass root level. Moreover, this book is also an attempt to lay the groundwork that will lead to future studies or to determine if what is being observed might be explained by currently existing findings, and may lead the initial groundwork for future research and comparative analysis on local government system.
