Аннотация: Women are facing lot of discrimination by their family members,neighbours in the community, peers and teachers at school and society by and large in each and every aspect of their life from before birth to until death in different stages of their life span;this discrimination restricts their growth and development and limits their capacities and capabilities in their public and private spheres of life due to traditional practices, customs and false beliefs are playing vital role in life of girls and women. In this context this book highlights the developmental needs of adolescents, reproductive health problems of Adolescents, various factors influencing the behaviour of adolescent girls, causes and consequences of reproductive health problems of Adolescents, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights,initiatives by the Government of India in the form of programmes for promoting the reproductive health of adolescent girls in rural and urban areas with study findings as supporting data along with suitable suggestions for policy makers and implementing authorities to achieve Millennium Development Goals Successfully to build gender friendly society with equity.
