Аннотация: This book studies the post Cold War ties of India and Asean. As of now both have elevated their ties to a strategic partnership level, and have signed the FTA in goods in 2010, then FTA in services in 2014, this volumes describes, how the ties between the two have evolved and then strengthened in the past two decades. In order to explain the policy changes of India and Asean, first this work focuses on the mutual economic imperatives, then it also asses the role of the other factors that have emanated from the international economic and geopolitical settings during post Cold War period. Particularly, the role of international economic regime and the political and economic realignments and readjustments among the great powers in the Asian Pacific region and its impact have been addressed in the book. It also analyses how a resurgent China and security challenges from the non state actors, particularly in the post September 11 terrorist attack scenario have played a role in shaping the current India-Asean relations.
