Аннотация: This book provides an in-depth analysis on factors influencing skills based graduates and artisans to start a business. The study was conducted in the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek from a sample of 118 SMEs operating from incubation centres and industrial stalls. The study assessed thirteen factors based on four themes aligned to the meta-cognitive model of mind set and utilised quantitative research methods following a positivist approach. Too often vocational education and training is given less credit compared to other tertiary institutions, however countries like Germany flourish because the backbone of their economy amongst others lies in strong streamlined vocational education and training systems. The study concluded that entrepreneurial initiatives among the younger age group (18 to 25 years) was mainly dormant due to difficulties in accessing funding, lack of incentives and lack of programs to consciously inculcate entrepreneurial mind sets. Continuous consultation and curricula review is essential to satisfy the skills requirements of the changing labour market if national economies especially, in the third world are to achieve industrialisation.
