Anyklosing Spondylitis & Chronic Pain: Modern Approach to Treatments.

      Аннотация: The long term effects of medications are too detrimental not to find a balance earlier in life for ‘chronic care.’ Ankylosing Spondylitis, Chronic Pain Syndrome and any ailment or illness can be a devastating concern for an individual or family to manage. Through Scholarly Personal Narrative (SPN), a broader view of the impact on communities and society are discerned. SPN letters to Parents, Educators, Policy Makers and Medical Providers are written to bridge the gap between treatment paradigms and expand the current healing rubric. Living a life filled with positive relations, nutrition that works for your personal needs, recreation that keeps you actively motivated and meaningful career work are all part of a healing modality incorporating alternative approaches. Understanding treatment, acceptance and striving to improve oneself by taking personal responsibility through education and advocacy are part of this SPN's journey. This thesis is a start in opening the dialogue as our societies expand and world gets smaller.
