Аннотация: Hospital does not work in isolation. It is itself a community within the community. The medical fraternity has always been focused on curing and controlling disease for mankind. The art and science of practicing of medicine has evolved itself to its present state, which aims at "protecting from disease and promoting positive health". Health care professionals are most negligent as far as their own health is concerned. It is time now for providers of 'Health care service' to look at their own health. High physical endurance and higher rates of exposure to infections and work related stress like situation calls for a serious move to have some standards for the healthcare worker to minimize exposure and ensure follow up. Indian legislation on occupational health and safety does not cover hospitals. The study provides information regarding healthcare service provider’s health status that is needed for policy makers and program providers at national, state and local level in order to improve worker’s health and, thus, the health of mankind seeking health care to them.
