Аннотация: The present study aimed to determine changes in serum fetuin-A levels in preeclampsia (PE). Furthermore, this study aimed to investigate whether serum fetuin-A is correlated with insulin resistance state, calcium and magnesium level, and serum proteins. The following paremeters were measured; Fetuin-A, insulin, glucose, total and ionized calcium and magnesium, total protein, albumin, and globulin levels in their sera. Insulin resistance, insulin sensitivity, and beta-cell functions were calculated using the HOMA2 calculator. Based on the results, the loss of proteins should be monitored via proteinuria, such as clotting proteins that may cause clotting problems to the pregnant woman and fetus. Subdivision of PE women into groups according to the history of abortion is informative, and it will produce groups that differ entirely in some parameters. This fact may require different treatment regimens by physicians. Compensation of hypomagnesemia is important and may improve the overall state of a pregnant woman and fetus. A complete study with a high number of patients is necessary, and other factors, particularly clotting factors should be considered.
