Аннотация: Through exploration and open-ended interview questioning, Vance V. GodBold offers an informative, yet compelling presentation of the perceived effects of incarceration on children of confined mother's at a women's prison facility. This narrative contributes to criminal justice sciences literature by relaying the women's shared viewpoints on how their experiences of being an institutionalized mother seemed to be affecting their children. Many stories were unfathomable, having adverse effects on children, while others were tales of success; mainly, due to the assistance of family members such as grandmother, father and sometimes unrelated family members. Vance presents this information in a style that identified overall shared racial themes, while dicotomizing the themes of Caucasian and African American women. Enjoy!
