Аннотация: Currently, Romania is being characterized by an increased amplification of the suicides, the suicide phenomenom becoming a daily constant, a fact that may be observed from consulting the media news as well as, mostly, the experts findings. Every day, circa 7 Romanians choose to commit suicide, meaning a suicide committed every 3 hours and 43 minutes. Year after year, the suicides in Romania represent a proportion of aproximately 23-31 % of all violent deaths, following the road accidents. Eventhought, by comparison with many other European countries, the suicide rate in Romania per one hundred thousand inhabitants does not reach the intensity of the suicide rates registered, for instance, in countries like Hungary, Serbia or the Republic of Moldova, it exceeds, the ones registered, for example, in the UK, The Netherlands or Portugal. In Romania, the information regarding the magnitude of the suicide is defragmentated and not complete, without reflecting the real dimension of this phenomenom. Therefore, this book, that has predominantly a practical character, is seeking to provide a complex and comprehensive image, from various angles and viewpoints, to the suicide in Romania.
