Аннотация: Legal Study Of Rape Laws In India is a kind of reference book on the subject area of rape, victimization and judicial approach. Women were always considered weak, vulnerable and in a position to be exploited. The danger of sexual assault or rape is a part of every woman’s life. Rape is a crime, not only against the person of a woman; it is a crime against the entire society. It is a crime against basic human rights. It is a humiliating and traumatic event in a woman's life, which leads to a fear for existence and a state of powerlessness All the main recent reports of the law commission on rape are dealt in an exhaustive way. The book contains a number of cases decided by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and all high courts relating to rape, as also the extracts of various Acts and Constitution of India as amended up to date. This study is undertaken with a firm belief that rape in India is an issue which has been under-addressed in the law. The present book will contribute in the effort to engage in a dialogue on the question of rape. Readers of various levels and types will be immensely benefitted from this book.
