Аннотация: Currently, there are two main issues i.e., energy and environment that need to be addressed by the researcher community. Significant efforts have been undertaken in finding solutions for saving energy and maintaining clean environment. One of the easy solution to this is to make sensors, which can work at room temperature, have long term stability, very selective and having high sensitivity. Notwithstanding to this to save energy one requires an automated system i.e., automated lighting controls that can help in switching lights ON/OFF when needed; while to maintain clean environment one requires monitoring the harmful gases. This two issues are addressed in the current book. Metal chalcogendies have capabilities in developing photo/gas-sensors, which can be helpful in addressing the above mentioned issues. A detailed literature review is done to help readers get a complete guide of metal chalcogenides and their applications in photo/gas sensors.
