Аннотация: Pinter’s War poetry anticipates in compiling ideas about his political activism and prominence as a war-poet criticizing US foreign policies poetically. The book analytically focuses on Pinter’s collection of ‘War’ (2003) poetry which includes most vocalized poems like “American Football”, “God Bless America” and “Death”. Harold Pinter as a 2005 Noble Prize winning playwright is known to the world for his Absurd Theatre but in his last phase he could generate his place as a matured poet in favour of human rights and world peace. He won Wilfred Owen Award for Poetry (2004). The book elaborately combines Pinter’s political activism and voice of resistance against foreign policies, wars, torture, brutality, oppression and degradation of human dignity. His brutal imagery, directness of language and symbolic quality magnificently conveys Pinter’s surpassing contribution to the field of poetry. The book aims at anticipating students more interested in Pinterian studies and War Poetry in Contemporary literature. With much analysis of Pinter's poetic language, the book will serve as ready reference of peace studies to new researchers and academicians in modern period of political violence.
