Аннотация: The core characteristics which are found in a child with ASD include difficulty in social communication, language and related cognitive skills, behaviour and emotional regulation. A child with ASD may have difficulty in recognizing and interpreting a social approach of another individual, responding to others in an appropriate manner and lack of motivation to respond which may be attributed to the deficiency in social behaviour. Social communication deficits of children with ASD creates a limitation in social experience or social exclusion. Challenges not only impact the child with ASD but also those who interact with the child i.e communication partners (parents). Parents encompass valuable information and insight regarding the skills and difficulties of their child.Professionals working with children with ASD should be aware of the significant role parents play in their child’s progression. This book demonstrates the important role of parents as well as the role of beneficial frameworks, such as the family systems approach and the ICIDH. The formation contributes to the knowledge and clinical skills of professionals working to improve the quality of life of children with ASD.
