Аннотация: Bone fracture healing is an exceptionally remarkable procedure since, unlike soft tissue healing, which leads to scar formation; the end result of normal healing is the regeneration of the anatomy of the bone and complete return to function. The basic understanding of bone tissues for its remodeling and repairing mechanism for homeostasis, bone development and growth in normal as well as in pathological conditions are mentioned. To make the bone curative process much faster, diverse treatments have been researched and studied. Various treatments include invasive surgical techniques, such as internal and external fixation and bone grafting; non-invasive techniques like ayurvedic treatments and allopathic treatments including a range of drugs. Latest up-coming treatments for fractures such as nanotechnology, biomimetic and non-biomimetic implants and other options for bone growth stimulation are discussed in this book. The use of Biomaterials such as auxetic scaffolds is a boon for the management of fractures. With the increased progress of the human intellect and different technologies, the process of improvement and evolution of bone immobilization is progressed to a greater level.
