Аннотация: Assessing the Needs is a work that is divided into four parts and will be treated as such. Part I: Assessing the Needs; Part II: The Gap Identification Summary; Part III: Issues of Privacy, Censorship, and Government Legislation and its Potential Impact on Collection Development; and Part IV: Annotations. The first part of this part of the paper, is written primarily as an academic project where the topic is real and affect not only library customers and their quest to learn. The second part is devoted to the Olin Learning Resource Center on the campus of Jarvis Christian College. It has an adequate number of computers and lap tops, students also find kindles and e-readers more comfortable to utilize through the academic semesters. Part III addresses the intended audience and target population which is the student body and the customers of Hawkins, Texas (Wood County) and rural East Texas. Also, the customers include the faculty and staff of Jarvis Christian College. Part IV comprises annotations reflecting materials in reference to the development of the collection in an academic setting.
