Аннотация: This study examines youth unemployment as a major stumbling block to growing social disequilibria led to economic disorder and poverty of the society. The interim social balance sheet describes the energy and vibrancy of the youth as an asset and also the liability of unemployment on one hand, transitional struggle of the nation to tame its energy gainful alternate employment on the other. India accounts for 2.4 percent of the world’s surface area, but ironically it supports 16.7 percent of the world population. Consequently, the census of India 2011 has proved to be a tremendous eye opener to the fact that we have crossed the 1.21 billion mark, as far as its population is concerned. To be more precise, the population of India as on March 1, 2011 has been enumerated at 1.21 billion. Examining this overburdened situation of our country, one of the major problems, which draw our attention, is that of unemployment. As compared to western economies where there is a burden of an ageing population, India has a unique 20-25 years window of opportunity called the “demographic dividend”. This “demographic dividend” means that as compared to other large developing and developed countries.
