      Аннотация: Increase in population is creating an alarming situation in the food problem in India. Malnutrition in terms of ‘protein’ deficiency is becoming a major hazard in developing countries. Mushrooms are protein-rich-wonder food. They are delicious as well as nutritious. However, it is unfortunate to realise that mushroom did not receive universal acceptance over the years, today the situation has changed because the cultivated edible species of mushrooms are totally safe for human consumption. Mushroom farming is becoming successful because of its very low inputs. In India, mushroom growing can be highly rewarding because of a variable climate. India has potential market of mushrooms, therefore this book is prepared for general public as well as industrialists and scientists.
