Domain Name Protection under Jordanian Legal System. The Insufficiency of the Jordanian Legal Rules in Resolving Domain Name Dispute

      Аннотация: This book aims to demonstrate the inadequacy of the Jordanian legal system and the alternative disputes resolution in resolving domain name disputes. The book examines some applicable Jordanian laws where the domain name disputes occur. These laws are the Jordanian Trademarks Law, the Jordanian Civil Law and the Jordanian Unfair Competition and Trade Secrets Law. Further, the book tackles alternative resolutions for domain name disputes in order to discuss the sufficiency and the effectiveness of the alternative resolution in resolving domain name disputes. The book recommends enacting an international treaty concerning domain name protection in order to provide appropriate legal rules for resolving domain name disputes. It also recommends that the Jordanian legal system should provide a separate protection for domain names and this can only be applied by enacting new legislation to deal with the abusive registration of domain names.
