Аннотация: Monuments are the icons of the nation having their own cultural,historic values and their own decorative finishes. For the preservation of these values and aesthetic of the monumental buildings, special attention should be given.There are various conventional methods to rehabilitate the structures. Though these methods are used for increasing strength and stiffness of the structural members, they are not feasible for rehabilitation of monuments due to increase in size, heavy weight, bonding durability, drilling holes in existing members etc. New innovations, improved technologies, advances in the construction industry are constantly evolving. Engineers should select proper material and and technique for the rehabilitation of the particular monument. It is very important that properties of the old materials and new materials should match each other. In this literature,some special techniques for rehabilitation of monumental buildings are discussed. Techniques like injection of use of different chemicals is attempted.Timber and its preservation with different chemical is also attempted. Also to prevent the corrosion of reinforcement, use of special type of anode is explained.
