Coconut Cultivation in Nalbari District of Assam. An Economic Analysis of Production and Marketing

      Аннотация: Coconut (Cocos nucifera) is a very important and nutritious fruit. Generally, it refers the seed, or the fruit, which, botanically, is a drupe. Significantly, the coconut has cultural and religious significance in certain communities, particularly in India, where it is used in Hindu rituals. Nevertheless, coconut has a diverse use ranging from foods to cosmetics. Each and every part of the coconut is useful, immature coconut is famous as nutrient rich drink during summer season. Moreover, on one hand, mature nuts can be use directly as fruit and in the form of cake in other hand. The oil and milk extracted from coconut is commonly used for cooking and frying, as well as in soaps and cosmetics preparation. Further, a variety of decorative items and for furnishers can be produce from the husks and leaves. However, both charcoal and coir is also important product of coconut. This book will provide some information regarding production and marketing of coconut.
